Support testing against Java17

Description

Java17 is the latest LTS release. We should validate proper functioning of the Java driver for this JVM.

 

Any changes or updates to driver code following on from this effort will be handled as separate tickets.

Is there a contained test case which would allow us to reproduce the error? If so please open a new ticket describing that reproduction case and describing the issue. If there isn’t a self-contained reproduction case it would be extremely useful if such a thing could be created.

T-Mobile has a mandate to migrate their Java applications to Spring Boot 3.0, which requires JDK 17.. ..they are reporting that authentication does not seem to work.

This will become more urgent in 2023 when JDK 11 started to reach its end of support life (September 2023) according to this from Oracle.
